excellent choice of watch January 7, 2009 Frances Donaldson 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My husband loved his gift of this watch. It is very stylish and the atomic clock tie-in is wonderful...no more resetting times at Daylight Saving Time! This watch is also very easy to set at the beginning.
I would recommend this watch to anyone.
Couldn't do better for the money... July 11, 2009 MrDarkness (SoCal) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Reviews are, by their nature, limited by subjectivity and situational circumstances that may or may not be of value to you personally; for what this is worth, here's mine:
From the outset, I had no problem receiving the nightly signal from Fort Collins, Colorado--and I went to no special, elaborate pains to do so. I simply left the watch sitting on my bathroom counter, orienting 12-o'clock towards a window, and it would catch at least one of six nightly reception attempts.
The display is large enough to read easily without the aid of reading glasses, yet not so large as to be absurd in appearance. The overall aesthetics work for me--but that's just me.
Accessing and operating the other features (world time, countdown timer, stopwatch, alarm) is mercifully simple, does not require an objectionable time investment to learn.
Regarding the toxic watch band issue, the instructions included an after-the-fact, lawsuit-preventing warning, so the matter must presumably be valid. I can report only that I personally suffered no ill-effects.
Casio has always been about high function, squeezing as much into as tiny a space as possible--sometimes straining practical usefulness in the process. This particular watch is a bang-for-the-buck winner, without trying to do too much.
Great Watch for the Price June 30, 2009 Bob (Wallingford, CT) Like to comment on some of the other reviews, the band is not poisonous, I wear it 24 hours a day and only take it off for showers or real messy work. Never caused any skin problems. As far as sync'ing, you need to remember that the watch itself doesn't have much of an antenna, but your body does act as one when you are wearing it, my watch sync's every night unless I leave it off. My house has metal siding, but I sleep on the second floor with only the roof between me and Colorado and it's no problem.
works extremely well September 16, 2009 Misha Spal (California) This watch works extremely well. It set itself last night and it is accurate to the second (compared to the official US time clock on the internet).
The photo of the skin irritation looks to me like an allergic reaction. Some people have skin contact allergies to chemicals in plastic or rubber. This would affect a few people, but not most. If you think you might be allergic, get the one with the metal band.
casio waveceptor watch March 18, 2010 jim conley Great watch. Geeks have to love the nightly synchronization with the US Atomic Clock! For non-geeks, you'll love the fact that it automatically changes to daylight savings time. What's not to like? I can't find a thing.
