Works great! July 17, 2007 S. Shahriar 13 out of 14 found this review helpful
I have been using this watch for 2 months. I got great compliments but, I had to lie about the price, since people wouldn't believe me I got this watch for the price.
I live in the Bay Area, California. The watch synchronizes pretty much every night.
I have no complains.
Great, inexpensive watch - NOT Solar Powered July 27, 2009 Mark Thacker 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I purchased this watch after reading several reviews here, directly at a local Target store for $24.88.
It included small, but very usable instructions and set up of the watch was actually quite easy.
Just a note that the watch is NOT solar powered - a fact quickly discovered by exploring the Casio Web site.
Overall, this watch does what I want and includes a count down timer, a stop watch, a single daily alarm, world time display, great backlight, and ability to sync with the Atomic clock nightly. It is also not a huge watch and is very light weight, which is a good thing in my opinion. It's resin strap is actually quite comfortable and has plenty of adjustment holes which ventilate it so you don't get a clammy wrist.
About the world time and atomic clock sync : this doesn't allow you to have the watch automatically detect that you have switched time zones (unlike your phone, which does this when you roam into an area when it gets it's time from the provider's network).
When I travel, I can change the 'home city' to one in the correct time zone (there are 48 to choose from) and the watch will automatically correct the time.
One press of a button reveals a world time screen. Only one city is listed, but it's your choice (from 48) as to which city is displayed, complete with that city's offset from UTC (Universal Time Coordinated).
At night, the watch attempts to collect the time from the atomic clock located in Colorado. This has worked well once I started placing the watch at a window in my bathroom. You can check to see when the watch last sync'ed and can manually force a sync attempt. The watch displays an indicator for signal strength and that indicator stays on the screen once the sync has occurred.
Overall, it's a great watch for the price.
Very Nice Watch September 2, 2007 Susan J. Burns (Minnesota) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I ordered this watch for my teenage son, who has previously owned a digital atomic watch, and wore it to death. He loves this watch like he did the old one. It is a very high quality and (obviously) accurate watch, at a great price.
lots of time zone July 21, 2007 Dan K 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I like this watch for the time zones. It is useful when you have family in various countries. The only difficult I had was getting used to the function of the watch and refer to the manual many times. It is a great watch. I was concern about the price because for that price I thought it would be a "mickey mouse" watch. It looks and functions like a high end digital watch.
Not Solar powered January 6, 2009 Mark (Stockport, UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a great watch which sets itself in the middle of the night from the radio time signal. The instructions tell you to leave it near a window away from metal objects.
It is not solar-powered, however, and I feel that the description is misleading in this respect. It runs on a lithium battery which needs replacing after about two years.
By the way, the UK time signal transmitter has been at Anthorn, not Rugby since April 2007.
